Excited to say I just picked up my first ever B-King today and I can not wait to see if it lives up to all that I have read about it. Spent about 7.5 hours on the road today to get it but got an amazing deal. Pulling off of the trailer and pulling it into the garage was exciting, i can't imagine what will happen when I get it on the road.

After about 7 bikes in the last 5 years (zx14s and CBRs to Harleys and Warriors) I am hoping this is the one.

Welcome.
They have their faults but they're a whole heap of fun if they suit what your after.

They aren't a great tourer or Sportsbike but they were never meant to be.
The ARE a great naked muscle bike. There's something fun about owning the motorcycle equivalent of a sledge hammer !

They must have something I like,
not like me to keep a new bike almost 8 years!

I appreciate the warm welcome! Now the hunt begins for some aftermarket slip-on exhaust (these stock ones at idle are quiet like an electric car lol)... If any of you have any for sale let me know!

Welcome!   Bike looks great!
There is a mod for the stock muffler that will make it a little louder...and saves you money. Search posts for the info...

I wanted to keep the muffler cover's because the look grew on me after i got it home so i pulled the big ass muffler of and took the bike to my local auto exhaust shop and asked if i could watch them make a y-pipe exhaust to go from my cat to the rear of the bike. With the tip's sticking out the muffler cover's and he said let's do it. I am on my second b-king now and the exhaust shop has made a second y-pipe for me. I also had the pipe's ceramic coated. the y-pipe was $110 and the ceramic coating was $80. The bike has a nice rumble at idle and to my surprise got very loud at high rpm. just the way i like it. I can cruz town and not get pulled over and i can crack the throttle and everyone knows its the b king. When i took it out on Michigan international speedway everyone thought it sound like a indy car and it still has a cat on it. I put slip on chrome short bell's on my busa and the b king sound that i have put it to shame. The brock's exhaust is a nice system if you have the money and you want that look. Brock's $1500-$2200 and about 10 to 20 more horse power or $180 plus a ecu dyno tune ($400 to $500) and you will have 160 true rear wheel hp that will run clean and smooth and sound great. Also you get to keep the so called ugly muffler cover's that everyone pull's off. To me that would be like taking the scoop's off a vmax it's just not right. all though i do think the b king look's bad ass without the muffler cover's if the bike is lowered. and the vmax would look like ass without the scoop's. For now i will keep the cover's and all the look's the b king get's when i park it near people. I was at a 30 year vmax gathering on 6 26 and 6 27 and not one person had anything bad to say about the king. Most maybe all liked it. My next move will to have my cat removed and make a pipe with a single large bore baffle welded in it so i have some back pressure and put it in place off the cat and than have it dyno tuned. Im hoping my tuner man can find 10 more hp. I might go with a big tube header if he thinks it will get me a few more pony's. all in all if i can keep the stock look and make a sleeper out it and come up with 175 hp at the rear wheel i will be happy. Well at that point i would lower it and give it a 6 inch stretch. I think (imo) the b king lowered stretched and muffler cover's would look tough ass hell. my video don't sound bad but it sound's even better standing next to the bike.

I see we think alike about the stock look Cooper's Ale 4 U! Cooper's Ale 4 U! I got yoshis tucked under the stock covers.

Your idea is very neat. Though, that is definitely too loud for the roads here, where I live. Good that the pipes are sticking out, because you can always fabricate some baffles for it. Whooooooo!!! 804287

Wow, nice idea! Fabrication may be the way to go. I guess we shall see, regardless of the sound, the ride is amazing every time. It's been a while since I've felt that with a bike.

It isn't the look of the covers that bothers me per say, it's more so the volume (even with the stock exhaust mod). The OEM covers, although very large, seem to fit the bike well. It also makes the look much more distinct than the other nakeds around here. Plus, here in D.C. area louder seems to be better for the most part, especially with all of the traffic. I've had aftermarket pipes on all of my bikes from cruiser to sportsbike and if there are noise laws, I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for it.

biggmo if you like it loud than you will like the sound with y-pipe from cat back. Trust me it's loud. still don't understand how it could be so loud with the cat still in place but it is. Take your muffler off and start the bike and you will here what it will sound like because the y-pipe don't make it much quieter.

Lots of options for pipes and such. Enjoy the beast.
