Hi all,
Just picked up an 08' backstock King a couple weeks ago. Thought I would drop in and join the gang.
I was looking to get a better riding position than My Gen 1 V-Max provided, It was hell on my lower back. So started looking at naked sportbikes. And when I was seconds away from signing off on a 2011 FZ8, My salesman remembered a hard to reach dealer with the backstocked King.
So for $200 dollars more, I got the bike I wanted instead of the one I could afford. And for some freakish reason, it has half the insurance cost of the smaller bike. Probly because kids cant afford a B-King to run the crash numbers up.
Added a few bolt ons alreay, Billet bar end mirrors, Yoshi slip ons, and chrome frame sliders.
some planned mode for the next few weeks,
Candy Red paint similar to the "orca B-king",
Yoshimura fender eliminator is on order,
recovering both seats with a bit of gel added,
and getting the hardware to remap the ECU, for no reason other than it intrigues me.
I am not new to superbike motors, I have been involved in raceing them in other types of vehicles for 15+ years. And honestly after reading the ECU mapping section of this forum, It has actually restored my faith that there are people in the field that know what they are doing. Because over the years I have read some tottaly retarded stuff, that people believed wholesale.
I will put up some pics of the bike after Its more complete, Its in a bit of a larval stage right now, with the yoshi pipes, but stock fender and muffler rollcage still intact. LOL kinda looks like poop from the rear. I will also try to chime in for EFI technical questions when it is relevant. Thats my day to day specialty.
