22 men (?) running around a field for an hour and a half, having a fall over competition. A bit like primary school when kids used to play "japs and commandos" with points being awarded for the most glorious death.

But... You can talk in such a manner about every singe sport discipline... Swimming, Running, Volleyball, Speedway (they are riding in circles! What is so spectacular about it?) etc.

You don't see moto gp riders or cricket players, snooker or darts players roll around the floor pretending to be hurt etc etc etc etc etc

Just my opinion on an emotive and overpaid media controlled game !
